Instructions for Use Syringe Filters

13, 25, 33mm Filters

l         Bandedpolypropylene housing ensures lab safety preventing the housing from  bursting

l      Color-codedhousing allows for easy identification of membrane

l      Forsample volumes of <10mL

l      Retentionvolume < 25μL

l      Maximumoperating temperature: 100°C autoclave at 120°C for 15 minutes

l      Maximumoperating pressure approximately 100 psi

Instructions for Use

l     To minimize fluid retention on the membrane, draw 1mL of air into the syringe before filling. This will also serve as a final air purge. Draw sample into the syringe until full.

l      Secure the inlet of the filter to the filled syringe with a twisting motion, being careful not to use excessive force.

l      Hold the syringe with the filter attached vertically. This will permit proper wetting of the membrane preventing air block and initiating enhanced and proper flow rates.

l      Depress the syringe plunger gently. It is recommended that the first 0.25 to 0.50mL of filtrate be discarded.

Note: If increased pressure is required this is an indication that the filter is maximized and needs to be changed.
